VA Ann Arbor Research Service - VA Funding
VA Research Funding
VA research funding differs from that provided by other federal research agencies. VA research focuses only on the needs of Veterans and funding is only awarded to VA employees with at least a 5/8 appointment. VA Ann Arbor researchers often have joint appointments and collaborate with our academic affiliate, the University of Michigan.

Obtaining approval to submit VA grants
Approval to submit applications for VA funding is granted by the Research and Development Committee (RDC). Projects should be submitted two month prior to the grant deadline to provide time for review. For more information on submitting new projects to RDC via VAIRRS, the VA's regulatory submission platform, CLICK HERE. You can also contact the RDC coordinator, Brandy Schneider.
Once awarded, Michele Weston and Brandy Schneider will assist the Investigator with completing the Just-in-Time “JIT” award documents and correspondence to central office.
