Microscopy and Image Analysis Core
The Microscopy and Image Analysis Core at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System oversees equipment and software for imaging and analysis of research specimens for all VA-affiliated laboratories. We provide paid access to a Leica Stellaris 5 inverted confocal microscope, a PC workstation with FIJI (ImageJ) and Imaris software, and skilled supervisory committee that can provide consultation, training, and assistance with refinement of imaging methods for new and existing experiments. Steps for Confocal Use
- Complete Laser Safety Training in TMS. Course Number: NFED ehs_hsf_c48_sh_enus
- Submit an amendment to the Safety Committee adding confocal (laser) use to all protocols that require the confocal for approval.
- Contact Anutosh Ganguly or Courtney Stewart for in-person training and consultation.
- Develop an imaging SOP specific to your requirements and training, Submit this to the Supervisory Committee for approval (via email).
- Request PIV card access to the basement.
- Request a Watchdog PIN for access to the confocal room.
